CZECH MULTIMEDIA INTERACTIVE digital New Year card 2016
Like every year we have made our own digital New Year greeting card. This time we created 3D model of spinning Earth with New Year greeting in 104 languages. The globe may be switched into night mode when city lights of Earth’s megacities are visible. There is also option to toggle clouds layer etc. For 3D model we used NASA space imagery which is available for use by public.
For 3D scene we use WebGL technology, users on older computers and browser would see simplified static version of the card. On touch enabled devices view can be controlled by fingers and by tilting smartphone or tablet.
